Als Agora Think Tanks verfolgen wir das Ziel, Klimaneutralität bis Mitte des Jahrhunderts zu erreichen. Dabei arbeiten wir eng mit zentralen Akteuren aus Politik, Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Zivilgesellschaft zusammen. Mit etwa 180 Mitarbeitenden an weltweit vier Standorten kombinieren wir in unserer täglichen Arbeit Forschung, Dialog und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit. Dabei kommunizieren wir intern und extern überwiegend auf Englisch. Unsere Arbeitsergebnisse veröffentlichen wir in zahlreichen Studien und weiteren Publikationen, zudem betreiben wir Webseiten sowie Social-Media-Kanäle. Wir agieren unabhängig und frei von wirtschaftlichen oder parteipolitischen Interessen. Unsere Finanzierung stammt aus Zuwendungen von Stiftungen und öffentlichen Institutionen.

Zur weiteren Verstärkung unseres Teams suchen wir zum frühestmöglichen Zeitpunkt für unseren Hauptsitz am Standort Berlin (Hackescher Markt) eine/n

Webentwickler:in Frontend (m/w/d)
in Teil- oder Vollzeit (mind. 32 Stunden / Woche). 

Sie werden Teil eines engagierten und kollegialen Teams und arbeiten eng mit den Kolleginnen und Kollegen anderer Bereiche zusammen. Ihre Tätigkeit ist durch ein Arbeitsumfeld in einer gemeinnützigen Organisation geprägt.
Die Aufgaben
  • Eigenständiges Projektmanagement, insbesondere als Schnittstelle zwischen der Kommunikationsabteilung, IT und unserem Datenteam;
  • Systematische Weiterentwicklung und Pflege der Websites der Agora Thinktanks, mit einem klaren Fokus auf Frontend-Entwicklung, Design und Benutzerfreundlichkeit (UX/UI);
  • Gestaltung und Umsetzung von neuen Features und Tools, inklusive der Erstellung von Mock-ups;
  • Kommunikation in die Organisation zu Webthemen, inkl. Trainings;
  • Enge Zusammenarbeit und Abstimmung mit externen Dienstleistern.

Wir erwarten
Sie haben bereits mehrere Jahre Berufserfahrung gesammelt, idealerweise in einem Team, das an größeren Webprojekten gearbeitet hat. Benutzerfreundlichkeit und "Mobile First" sind für Sie keine Zukunftsvisionen, sondern bereits gelebte Praxis. Sie besitzen außerdem:
  • Exzellente Kommunikations- und Kooperationsfähigkeiten;
  • Erfahrung im Projektmanagement und in der Koordination von interdisziplinären Teams;
  • Sehr gute Kenntnisse in HTML, CSS, SCSS und JavaScript;
  • Erfahrung in der Entwicklung von Extensions mit Extbase und Fluid;
  • Ausgeprägtes Gespür für Ästhetik und Detailgenauigkeit im Design (UX/UI);
  • Kreativität und strategisches Denken, um innovative Ideen zu entwickeln und umzusetzen;
  • Gute Deutschkenntnisse und sehr gute Englischkenntnisse;
  • Kenntnisse in Typo3, Codingstandards wie BEM und ITCSS sowie gängiger Designsoftware sind wünschenswert.

About us

As Agora Think Tanks, we develop politically feasible and science-based strategies and solutions for the transformation to climate neutrality. Along with overarching questions of climate policy, the successful transformation to a climate-neutral energy system is at the core of our work. With around 180 employees at four locations worldwide, we advise decision-makers and facilitate a productive exchange of ideas. Because no single institution can tackle the complexity of the transition from fossil fuels to renewables and to climate neutrality. We cultivate an intensive dialogue with stakeholders from politics, civil society, the economy, and science and are active in a global network of think tanks promoting the net-zero transition. To further strengthen our team, we are looking for a:

Web Developer Frontend (f/m/d) 
Full- or part-time (minimum 32 hours), based in Berlin.

You will be part of a dedicated, collaborative team and work closely with colleagues from different departments in a non-profit environment.
Your responsibilities include
  • Managing projects independently, serving as the key interface between the communications department, IT, and our data team;
  • Systematically developing and maintaining the Agora Think Tanks’ websites with a strong focus on front-end development, design, and usability (UX/UI);
  • Designing and implementing new features and tools, including the creation of mock-ups;
  • Communicating web-related topics within the organisation, including conducting training sessions; and
  • Collaborating closely with external service providers.

We are looking for
You bring several years of professional experience, ideally in a team that has tackled large-scale web projects. User-friendliness and “mobile-first" principles are already part of your day-to-day work. Additionally, you offer:
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
  • Experience in project management and coordinating interdisciplinary teams;
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, SCSS, and JavaScript;
  • Experience developing extensions with Extbase and Fluid;
  • A strong sense of aesthetics and attention to detail in design (UX/UI);
  • Creativity and strategic thinking to drive and implement innovative ideas;
  • Good command of German and excellent English skills;
  • Familiarity with Typo3, coding standards such as BEM and ITCSS, and common design software is a plus.
