Agora Industry
As a think tank, Agora Industry is pursuing the goal of achieving a climate-neutral industry sector. With prospectively 50 employees at four locations worldwide, we combine research, dialogue, and public relations in our daily work to find answers to crucial questions. In doing so, we work closely with partners in numerous countries, and we act independently and free of economic or party-political interests.
Europe and an increasing number of other countries and regions in the world have decided to become climate neutral by 2050 at the latest. This implies the industrial sector reaching climate neutrality within just one generation as part of the broader transformation. While creating tremendous opportunities for investments and clean development, immense efforts are needed to reach net-zero climate objectives, especially for energy-intensive industries such as steel.
To strengthen our team, we are seeking a
Project Lead Industrial Decarbonisation of the Global Steel Sector(f/m/d)
Full-time or part-time (minimum 32 hours), based in Berlin
Providing a crucial material for everyday life, the steel sector’s transition to climate neutrality will be a cornerstone for scaling the uptake of green products. The transformation has started with many companies having announced their transition plans to climate-neutral production. We provide recommendations to address bottlenecks and overcome challenges at the global level.
You will work with a larger team at Agora on this mission. The team is expert, strategic, and busy!
We are looking for
- A strong desire to actively shape the global industry transformation;
- A degree and at least eight years of relevant work experience in or with industry,
- Profound expertise in the steel transformation, including policy instruments and processes, technical solutions and trade regulations;
- A significant network relevant for the industrial transition, and the ability to be a highly credible representative toward Agora’s partners and policy-makers at a senior level;
- Experience in guiding complex cooperation projects with multiple (international) stakeholders and networks;
- Experience with managing grants and budgets;
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, ability to present analytical and research material;
- Willingness to travel internationally;
- Fluency in English; German and other language skills are a plus.
